Or, I would be loving the cables on my Mom's sock if I had been doing them right. They have abbreviations like RPC and LPC which mean Right and Left Purl Cable. Silly me though that if an LPC meant to put one stitch on the cable needle and hold in front, purl the next, then knit off the cable needle, that RPC would be to put one stitch on the cable needle and hold in back, purl the next and knit off the cable needle. Duh, I'm an idiot. RPC means to knit the next stitch on the main needle and purl the stitch off the cable needle. No wonder my cables weren't as well-defined as the picture on the pattern.
Sorry Mom, I'm not ripping it out. It's far enough up on the sock that it shouldn't show. If it does, I'm sorry. The second sock should look better.
At least I'm starting to make progress finally. I'm knitting more than tinking. That alone is a huge improvement!
